Soul Mix 5

I have been slacking with getting mixes together. It's because I don't love you and I have much more important things to do, like nude Tai-chi in Golden Gate Park, it's a great way to start the day.

Here is a new soul mix, do you guys like soul music? Does anyone read this?

I love this Paul Kelly song, "The Upset," off of Eccentric Soul 007, this is the same album that has that Helene Smith cover of Otis Redding's, "Pain In My Heart."  We discussed it here in the last Soul Mix post.  It just has a nice driving rhythm, great pace and vocals.  It flows so well, it's a legit foot tapper.

Another upbeat faster paced song off this mix is The Exciters with, "He's Got The Power." This is off of a great collection called, "One Kiss Can Lead To Another: Girl Group Sounds Lost and Found."  Stellar boxed set that I highly recommend.  I threw on four songs from it, all of them have that fast paced girl group sound.

Last sample is The Temprees with, "Dedicated To The One I Love."  Camron and Vado actually just sampled this for their song, "Ooh Baby," which was on one of my hip hop mixes...I think.
